Description
Masseria Li Veli is an imposing structure on the southernmost slopes of the Murge hills in Puglia; it is the project of the Falvo family, former owners of the Avignonese estate in Tuscany, who have strong ties to this region. The estate comprises some 90 acres of vineyard, all planted to grape varieties that are native to this region. Verdeca is an ancient grape variety, probably brought to the region by the Greeks; here it is blended with a small percentage of the winery’s Fiano Minutolo. Richly fruity, it has a delightful nose of flowers and ripe peaches; on the palate there’s bright acidity and more than a touch of minerality.
