Description
Parusso’s 2013 Barolo Mosconi presents thick waves of darkness and thickness that wash over the senses. This is a firm and tightly structured wine that reveals an immovable series of hearty flavors, including Morello cherry, pipe tobacco, black licorice, truffle and moist earth. The Mosconi cru is located in Monforte d’Alba, which is known for power and nuanced delivery. This wine offers unique hints of dried rosemary and crushed mineral as well.
The Parusso family history dates back to 1901 when their grandfather, Gaspare Parusso purchased his first vineyards in Barolo. In 1971 the second generation headed by Marco Parusso went from a family of growers to a family of vintners. The philosophy is based in natural farming and sustainability. The “Mosconi” Barolo is a beautiful, approachable Barolo even in its early stages.
